Music Medals are innovative new assessments from ABRSM that motivate, challenge and inspire children who learn instruments in groups. Students who have individual lessons can also benefit from these assessment including Bronze, which I use as a preparation for their grade one exam. Music Medal assessments are recorded in the student's lesson by the teacher.

Registration:
As your child has now learnt the required assessment music, please fill in and return to me (in the lesson) the consent form (see below) and pay the required fee of £18.50 (I will email you my BACS). Once received, I will register the student, ready to assess them within the upcoming lessons.

Assessment:
- An ensemble piece where the student is playing a different part than the teacher or other students in the assessment.
- A solo piece (Movie Busters)
- Call and Response. I will a play two phrases and they respond to each with their own melody in the key (scale) stated and making use of the rhythms heard in my melody. Finish the second phrase on the tonic (first or top note of the scale). Practising the scales with the required sharps or flats will help.
Results:
Once completed, I will send off the recorded assessments, with results returned within a month.
